HEIGHTS — Chelsi Evans, 12, was killed Oct. 12 after she was struck by a vehicle on Telegraph Road at Ford Road.

She was crossing Telegraph Road with her twin brother when the passing motorist hit her in the middle of the road. Evans landed about 50 feet away from where she was struck.

A doctor was at a nearby barber shop and attempted to help Evans, but was unsuccessful.

Dearborn Heights emergency first responders arrived at the intersection, but Evans was announced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and reminded at the scene until police arrived. No charges have been announced against the unidentified driver.
