Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad (front row fifth from left) won first place at the Police Officers Association of Michigan’s Chiefs Cooking for Kids Oct. 10 at Max M. Fisher Music Theatre in Detroit. Haddad won for the fourth year in a row with his chili. “A huge thank you to our entire community including our business sector, faith-based and civic organizations, public safety labor and our residents for the total support for Chiefs Cooking for Kids 2019,” Haddad wrote on Facebook. The Youth Connection Cooking event featured multiple law enforcement and public safety chiefs competing in the cookoff to raise money for over 6,000 Detroit youth. Attendees were able to taste the different dishes then vote on their favorite along with the opportunity to bid on donated items in a silent auction to raise money.
