City of Dearborn recognizes employees who are veterans

The city of Dearborn employs 95 people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. DEARBORN – The city of Dearborn employs 95 people who are also veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. These veterans continue to serve the community working in departments across the city.

As Veterans Day approaches on Nov. 11, the city thanks them for their continued dedication to public service. Those who agreed to be recognized by name are listed alphabetically below:

Jeffrey Barta works in the Police Department. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He served in Texas, Michigan, and Mississippi from 1991to 2006.

Christopher Brayman works in the Dearborn Police Department. He served in the U.S. Army from 1986 to 1991, assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division out of Ft. Bragg, which was deployed during Desert Storm.

John Connolly works in Property Maintenance and Development Services. He was a specialist E4, serving in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1985, including time in Germany.

Murray Davis works in the 19th District Court. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1965 to 1969.

John Davidson works in Property Maintenance and Development Services. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1985 to 2000, which included a period of active duty in Desert Storm.

Gary B. Filiak works in Recreation and Parks. He was an E-4 in the U.S. Army, serving from 1971 to 1973 in Miesau, Germany.

Adam Hatlen works in Public Works. He was an AT3 in the U.S. Navy. He served in Virginia Beach, Va., from 2002 to 2007.

Jessica Hatlen works in Public Works. She was an AT3 in the U.S. Navy. She served at the Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia from 2002 to 2006.

Kenneth Lee Harrison works in MIS. He was an E-4 in the U.S. Army, serving from 1979 to 1985, including time in Germany.

Judge L. Eugene Hunt Jr. works in the 19th District Court. He was a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1974 to 1976 in Brunswick, Maine.

David Lambrix works in the Fire Department. He was an EM2 in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1984 to 1988 in Alameda, Ca.

Alan Leveille works in the Police Department. He was an E-4 in the U.S. Army, serving from 1993 to 1998 in California, Germany, Bosnia, Hungary, and Kentucky.

Adam Southall works in the Police Department. He was an E-5 in the U.S. Navy, serving from 2000 to 2010 in Virginia, Bahrain, and Michigan.

Bob Schuelke works in the Department of Public Works. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1966 to 1970 at the Royal Air Force Base in Alconbury, England.

Bob Sersen works in Property Maintenance and Development Services. He was an E-5 in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea from 1967 to 1969.

Doug Stokes works in the 19th District Court. He was a hospital corpsman E-4 in the U.S. Navy, serving in California, Pennsylvania, and Morocco from 1966 to 1970.

Jeremy Watkins works in the Fire Department. He was a specialist in the U.S. Army Reserves, serving from 1993 to 2001 in Fraser.
