The collection of leaves raked into the street and the curbside collection of leaves put into bags or containers will end the week of Dec. 9 to 13. Some neighborhoods will experience their last loose leaf collection the week of Dec. 2 to 6.

DEARBORN – The city’s loose leaf collection will continue through the week of Dec. 9 to 13. The last pickup for every neighborhood is scheduled on the trash day for that neighborhood that week.

Weather conditions may change the schedule.

It is unlikely that loose leaves raked into the street will be picked up every week in front of individual homes. Not every home will be served the week of Dec. 9 to 13. The last collection for some areas will be the week of Dec. 2 to 6.

Do not put loose leaves in the street after trash day on the week of Dec. 9 to 13.

To hear the schedule, call the Leaf Hotline at 313-943-2444 or go to www.cityofdearborn.org to view the schedule.

The service to pick up bagged or containerized leaves also ends on trash day the week of Dec. 9 to 13.

Bagging or putting leaves in approved containers is the best method to ensure leaves are picked up promptly. Use yard waste paper bags or 20- to 32-gallon containers with a Dearborn yard waste sticker on the lid and set them on the easement on trash day by 7 a.m. Do not put any leaves out after Dec. 13.

Free yard waste stickers are available at the Dearborn Administrative Center, 16901 Michigan Ave., and at Esper and Bryant branch libraries. (Henry Ford Centennial Library is temporarily closed for renovations.)

Leaves in plastic bags or in cardboard boxes will not be picked up.
