DEARBORN – To accommodate busy parents and make the Dearborn Public Library a welcoming environment for all who visit, the Dearborn Library Commission has once again approved temporary safety guidelines in effect during the busy study period between Jan. 6 to 17.
The Library will implement these guidelines at the Bryant Branch and Esper Branch. Henry Ford Centennial Lirary remains closed for renovations.
• From Jan. 6 to 17, all students between 13 and 18 years of age are required to have a parent accompany them to the library to sign an agreement of responsibility and show identification. Parents need not remain in the building with their children, but can if they choose.
The agreement states that both the parent and student have read the Library Code of Conduct and will abide by library rules. Staff will be posted near the public entrance doors to facilitate student visits. The parent only needs to sign the agreement once during these dates.
• At all times, the Dearborn Library requires that students between 13 and 18 years of age are always prepared to show school ID or other valid photo identification while using any Dearborn Library.
• Children under the age of 13 must always be accompanied by someone 18 years of age or older when using the Dearborn Library.
The goal of the Dearborn Library is to provide a positive and quiet atmosphere for all who visit to use library resources.
