DEARBORN – Dearborn residents are now permitted to request permits for garage sales in the city, as the state has now opened for retail sales.
Those hosting and attending garage sales are reminded that social distancing rules of remaining six feet apart as much as possible still apply, and buyers and sellers will be required to wear masks.
In order to obtain a permit for garage sales, residents must go to the city’s website to download and print an application, which must be mailed in to the City Clerk’s Office at the Dearborn Administrative Center with a check or money order.
Once the city clerk receives the application, it will be processed and a permit will be mailed to the resident. The garage sale permit application can be obtained at https://bit.ly/3gQzztd.
Address applications to: Dearborn City Clerk, Garage Sale Application, 16901 Michigan Ave., Ste. 11, Dearborn, MI, 48126.
Once the DAC is open to the public, residents will be able to call the City Clerk’s Office for an appointment.
The cost of the first garage sale is $10, increasing to $15 with the second, $20 for the third, and $25 for the fourth. Residents are allowed to host four garage sales per year, and each garage sale may last three consecutive days.
