According to an HFC news release, the peaceful protest was also organized by HFC alumni Byron Brooks on the historic holiday of Juneteenth to show solidarity and denounce racism, racial profiling, and police brutality against people of color. The protest included sign making, multiple speakers and a march from the police station east on Michigan Avenue to Schlaff and back to the police station.
