Dearborn Fire Station No. 2 will receive a new fire engine — similar to the fire engine above — in 2021..

DEARBORN – The city will purchase a new fire engine to replace Fire Engine 12 at Fire Station No. 2, 19800 W. Outer Drive.

Fire Chief Joseph Murray said the replacement of this truck serves to completely standardize the pumpers and ladder trucks among the fire fleet.

“This provides our firefighters the ability to move from station to station and have a thorough knowledge of the apparatus they are assigned to,” he said, adding that “a standardized fleet also aids us in repair and maintenance efficiency.”

The fire engine will be purchased from Sutphen Corp., a manufacturer which the city has used often.

“We have had a long relationship with this manufacturer and are looking forward to receiving this new truck,” Murray said.

The Fire Department expects to receive the new fire engine by July 2021.
