DEARBORN — Tenae Bolden, 22, of Dearborn died after a single-car crash in Lincoln Township July 23.

The passenger, Burjonna Denham, 21, of Eastpointe, was listed in critical condition after being transported to a local hospital in an ambulance then airlifted to another hospital in Midland.

Deputies from the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Fremont Road, west of Crawford at 8:34 p.m. where they found a 2009 Jeep Liberty rolled over.

Denham had been ejected from the vehicle while Bolden had to be removed by the Shepherd Tri-Township Fire Department who took off the doors and extricated her.

Bolden was airlifted to a hospital in Grand Rapids where she died shortly after.

According to the sheriff’s office press release, the Jeep crested a hill on a dirt road and lost control causing the vehicle to either slide sideways before rolling over on its side or was partially airborne and struck a power pole on the hood and windshield area.

A power pole at the crash scene broke and brought down a power line which had to be fixed by Tri-County Electric.
