HEIGHTS — Home Depot, 25451 Michigan Ave., was fined $4,000 by the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration for violating coronavirus safety guidelines.

According to MIOSHA, the store failed to follow workplace safety requirements including failing to designate a COVID-19 workplace supervisor, failing to conduct a daily health screening, failing to require face coverings when social distance could not be maintained, and failure to maintain and retain documentation for daily health screenings.
An investigation began after an anonymous complaint was filed.

The store has 15 days after receiving receipt of the citations to contest the violations and penalties. Citations include suggestions to fix hazards to protect employees.

Home Depot must provide proof to MIOSHA that it has made the necessary adjustments, a Sept. 17 MIOSHA press release said.
