TAYLOR — Taylor Community Library released a mobile app to make it easier to use the library from home.
The app allows users to:
• Find and reserve items from over 60 different area libraries.
• Renew items that are currently checked out.
• Check out items directly on your phone without needing to visit the front desk.
• Search for library events.
• Contact the library.
• Find updated hours.
• Receive notifications regarding service updates.
Library staff partnered with Capira Technologies, LLC to create the customized mobile application and test with community members.
“The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” assistant director, Shauna Anderson said. “Patrons love how simple it is to request books and keep on top of their checkouts. While the library building is currently closed for browsing, this makes it a lot easier to find and reserve what you want.”
The app is available for free on the App Store and Google Play. Users who rate or review the app online through Oct. 31 will be entered into a raffle for library swag.
Taylor Community Library is closed for browsing, but the library offers curbside pickup and home delivery. A socially-distanced computer lab also is available by appointment. Details for these services and more are available online at the library’s website: taylor.lib.mi.us.
