LINCOLN PARK – A $50,000 Wayne County grant will restore the roof and interior of the Kennedy Memorial Bandshell, Parks and Recreation Director Doreen Christian announced at the Sept. 21 City Council meeting.

The bandshell, in Memorial Park east of Fort Street, will include repairs to the convex roof and concave interior.

Damaged roof membranes will be removed, replaced and sealed, and water-damaged ceiling sections will be repaired and refinished.

The interior of the bandshell will be painted and resurfaced, with needed electrical work performed and the deck repaired and painted.

The tuck pointing on the brick front of the bandshell also will be repaired.

Funding for the bandshell work and similar projects from Wayne County are provided through the 2019-2020 Wayne County Parks millage.
