DEARBORN — A 24-year-old Hamtramck man was struck and killed Oct. 12 while walking in Farmington Hills by a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old Dearborn resident.

Police responded to the scene about 12:30 a.m. and learned the victim was walking in the road on M-5 Highway near Halsted Road.

He was walking west in the eastbound lanes of M-5 with another man, a 25-year-old Detroit resident. The victim was struck by a vehicle traveling east on M-5.
Emergency responders transported the victim to Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills, where he died of his injuries, according to a Farmington Hills Police Department press release.

The driver from Dearborn and three passengers inside the vehicle were uninjured.

Investigators have identified that alcohol and visibility were contributing factors.

Anyone with information regarding the incident can call the Farmington Hills Police Department at 248-871-2610.
