DEARBORN – The holiday season is here and that means creative, vibrant and festive decorations will be displayed on homes throughout the city.
The Dearborn City Beautiful Commission wants to recognize these decorations and displays during the annual “Dearborn Aglow” home decorating event. Commissioners will be scouring the city for the most eye-catching of these displays every evening from Dec. 8 to 11 from 6 to 10 p.m.
Residents may participate this year as a way of spreading holiday cheer throughout the community during what has been a tumultuous year.
Residents can ensure commissioners give full consideration to their homes, or homes they feel are deserving of recognition, by submitting a nomination by 5 p.m. Dec. 7. To nominate a house, call 313-943-2415 or email [email protected]
Commissioners will choose the best displays in each of their districts throughout the city, so be sure to turn on your holiday lights during every evening Dec. 8 to 11 to be considered.
This is also a time for residents to travel through the city to view the light displays exhibited by their neighbors.
Due to public health concerns surrounding COVID-19, there will not be an in-person ceremony will take place in January as there usually is; however, commemorative awards will be sent to the chosen households.
