HEIGHTS — A woman living at a house in the 4800 block of Glenis reported Jan. 15 that someone attempted to open credit cards in her name.

Two days prior, the woman was contacted by Capital One asking if she was opening two credit cards with the company, one platinum and one regular card. She said she was not. Capital One canceled the transactions and accounts before they were approved and advised the resident to file a police report.

The resident already had two credit cards with Capital One, but did not give anyone permission to open the accounts. She was unsure how her information was compromised, according to the report.

Police advised the woman to freeze her credit reports since her information was compromised.
