LINCOLN PARK — A shady entrepreneur with a pickup truck full of catalytic converters for sale triggered alarm bells for a 36-year-old woman who had the catalytic converter stolen from her 2002 Toyota Sienna between New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in the 2100 block of Olive Avenue.

The victim said a white pickup truck had been driving around her neighborhood before the theft of her vehicle’s $500 pollution control device, and after her car was targeted, she found an ad in Downriver Deals which featured a similar white pickup offering replacement catalytic converters for sale.

Police officers were unable to find a white pickup in the area, and asked the woman to call 911 if she saw it in the neighborhood again.
