LINCOLN PARK — An email alert purported to be from a 40-year-old Lincoln Park man’s bank, sent Jan. 12, resulted in a breach of his account and an unauthorized withdrawal.

The victim said he clicked on an email alert, but when it took him to Instagram, he grew suspicious, and attempted to terminate the connection. However, shortly afterward, he noticed a fraudulent withdrawal from his bank account.

He was advised by the bank to file a police report to initiate an investigation and reimbursement of the missing funds.
