Late-night train derailment blocks street

MELVINDALE — A train car rollover near Flora and Rose avenues blocked Francis Avenue, a residential street, at 10:48 p.m. Jan. 14, but no injuries or hazardous materials were involved in the derailment.

Local police officers, who were notified by railroad personnel, were advised that railroad security officials were summoned to the scene.
