ALLEN PARK — A 37-year-old Allen Park woman was arrested for retail fraud when she attempted to exit Meijer, 3565 Fairlane Drive, the night of March 14 with $483 worth of stolen merchandise.

Asset protection personnel said they watched the woman on surveillance cameras throughout the store as she put items into her cart, bagged them, and then attempted to leave the store without rendering payment.

The woman, who had an outstanding warrant for her arrest in Allen Park, admitted to the theft, and said she didn’t make enough money at her job to pay for the items. However, she managed to come up with a $500 cash payment for her bond after booking.

The woman did not have a valid driver’s license, so the vehicle she was driving was impounded and towed.
