Residents of eight local communities can schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments after eligibility expands at local clinics.
The Consolidated Vaccination Center at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn, offers appointments through May 1 to receive the vaccine.
Residents of Allen Park, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Melvindale, Taylor, Garden City, Inkster and Redford Township also are welcome to schedule a vaccine appointment.
At the center, the vaccination of people 18 and older with medical conditions and along with those 50 and over continues.
Starting April 5, anyone 18 and older can receive a vaccine — the two-dose Moderna shots. The vaccination center will be open 12 hours a day Monday through Thursday beginning April 12.
Masks covering mouth and nose are required to enter and remain in the building, according to a city of Dearborn press release. People will be asked to show their identification and will be screened at the door.
Go to cityofdearborn.org/covid to make an appointment if eligible.
In Taylor, the city partnered with Taylor Kroger to offer the Pfizer vaccine to residents on a first-come, first-serve basis. People on the city’s wait list will be contacted first before reaching out to new submissions as availability allows.
According to the city’s website, anyone wanting to be added to the waiting list for different vaccines should include which vaccine they prefer when submitting their form and call for an appointment.
Appointments are being scheduled for Taylor residents who meet the following criteria: 18 years of age and up, and 16- and 17-year-olds with parental or guardian consent with parent or guardian required to be present during vaccination.
To schedule an appointment either submit a request at https://forms.gle/46dmkUCRTdSA1MCd9 or leave a voicemail with name and callback number at 313-291-7740.
Appointment information will be provided to you during your call back.
Wayne County residents also can schedule vaccine appointments through their health care provider systems or designated pharmacies by visiting waynecounty.com/covid19/home for details.
