DEARBORN – The basement of the main post office, 3800 Greenfield Road, flooded June 26, damaging the building’s heating and cooling system, United States Postal Service spokeswoman Elizabeth Najduch confirmed Thursday.

She said there was no damage to mail or packages.

Due to a power outage, the retail lobby was closed June 28 and 29, but a generator has since been moved to the site, and the building is open to customers.

“There have been no impacts or delays to mail delivery,” Najduch said. “The Postal Service is taking appropriate action to ensure that our customers receive quality service.”
