TRENTON — Candidates running for office in Trenton have filed their petitions for the Nov. 2 general election.

On the ballot will be a mayoral race, city council race and the unopposed assessor position.

Incumbent Mayor Steven Rzeppa will be seeking re-election running against Thomas Kinney for a two-year partial term.

Six candidates are running for three four-year terms on the City Council. Those running are incumbents Timber Baun-Crooks, Richard Benedetti and Scott Cabauatan along with Emily Hornbeck, Jason O’Dea and Dora Rodriguez.

Current acting City Assessor Joanie Barnett is unopposed for the partial two-year term. Former Assessor John Dahlquist retired as of June 1 and Barnett was selected by the council to serve.
