WYANDOTTE — A 26-year-old Lincoln Park man, self-reported high on drugs, was taken into custody the night of Sept. 9 after he wandered into the active traffic lanes of Biddle Avenue.
Police officers originally responded to reports of a naked man banging on the windows of the Rite Aid store at 1998 Biddle. By the time police officers arrived, the man had put on his pants, and was walking northbound on the sidewalk near Biddle.
The police officers then saw him close his eyes and walk into the traffic lanes of Biddle, where he narrowly avoided being hit by two passing vehicles.
The police officers quickly removed him from the roadway, and found him to be visibly intoxicated.
The man admitted to using cocaine, but refused to cooperate with police officers, and resisted handcuffing.
A police officer used a chemical deterrent to control the man, after which he was taken to a local hospital for a physical and mental evaluation.
He was charged with disorderly conduct, and with resisting and obstructing police.
