ALLEN PARK — Police were called to Home Depot, 3163 Fairlane Drive, Sept. 16 for a shoplifting.

The Loss Prevention Officer said that a man entered the store and made his way to the paint section and selected one Graco Paint Sparyer valued at $299. He placed it in a cart, then went to the lumber section where he removed a tag from a common board valued at $25.21.

According to the report, the man placed the tag over the barcode for the sprayer and then proceeded to self checkout where the pain sprayer was scanned as the lumber. He also scanned a water hose nozzle, paying for both.

After checking out, the man passed all other points of purchase before he was stopped by the LPO and taken to the office without incident. He was identified by name and date of birth.

Police issued citations for retail fraud, and trespassed the man from Home Depot. All merchandise was recovered and by loss prevention.
