DEARBORN – The City Council was scheduled to authorize the mayor to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with Wayne County Oct. 12 to improve Outer Drive from Golfview Drive to Ford Road.
The project, estimated to cost $2 million, would have federal funding paying for about 82 percent of the cost, with Wayne County covering $210,123, and $161,623 paid for by the city.
Chief of Staff Mark Guido told the council at the Oct. 5 mayoral briefing this is for the project that is already under way, as witnessed by the plethora of orange construction barrels.
He clarified in an Oct. 7 email that since it is a Wayne County project, it did not need the city council’s permission to begin it, and noted that the IGA sets up the comparatively low participation rates for the city and county.
Guido said that the project is slated for completion in November.
