LINCOLN PARK — Alert neighbors in the 400 block of Champaign Road prevented the theft of a of black 1995 Harley-Davidson motorcycle Nov. 11, but the thief managed to escape with a 16-inch yellow McCulloch chain saw, which was taken from an unlocked garage while the resident was at work.
When two different neighbors started watching a man with the Harley in the alley behind the victim’s garage, he dropped the motorcycle to the ground and left the immediate area.
The suspect was described as a black male, 6 feet tall, about 160 pounds, with black hair and a mustache, who was wearing a red hoodie under a gray fleece, and dark pants.
No fingerprints were found, and no surveillance camera footage was available.
