TAYLOR — A 59-year-old Taylor woman was cited Feb. 18 for leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a revoked license and failing to stop in an assured clear distance.
Police officers responded to Ecorse Road and Mayfair Street, where a woman in a black Chevrolet Silverado had struck another black Chevrolet Silverado that was stopped at a red light.
The victim, a 46-year-old Taylor man, who was not injured, said the other driver stopped at the scene briefly before fleeing, but not before the victim was able to write down her license plate number.
Witnesses at the scene followed the woman when she drove off, then came back to tell police officers where she had parked her damaged pickup, which was in the driveway of her residence.
Police officers then went to her residence, where they spotted her vehicle, and her husband let them into the house, where the woman, who was not injured, admitted that she left the scene because she was scared.
The police officers advised her husband to keep the vehicle keys in his possession until she is eligible to drive again.
