Dogs versus vinyl fencing

SOUTHGATE — Good fences may make good neighbors, but when one woman accused another woman’s dogs of damaging her vinyl fence on April 1, police officers had to deescalate tensions.

A woman living in the 15000 block of Churchill Street said the neighbor whose backyard adjourns her was concerned that her dogs were damaging the vinyl fence between the two properties by bumping up against it. The accuser wanted to enter the yard to inspect the fence, but the dog owner said the fence was fine and denied her entry.

When the neighbor tried to enter the yard anyway from the locked gate, the dog owner called police officers to the scene, who assured the accusing neighbor that the fence was fine, and advised her to stay on her side of it.
