WYANDOTTE — A drunken 26-year-old Taylor man who was driving 75 mph on eastbound Ford Avenue at 2:40 a.m. March 29 ended up hitting a police vehicle and crashing into two separate concrete posts in the police station parking lot.
He was charged with operating while impaired and causing an injury, reckless driving, having an open alcohol container in a vehicle, and resisting and obstructing an officer.
The man, who smelled of intoxicants, had slurred speech and glazed, watery eyes. He had an open Corona beer in his cupholder, and a case of beer in the rear of the vehicle.
He was taken to Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital for a blood draw and treatment following his vehicle crash, after which he was returned to the police station, where he was booked and held.
