MELVINDALE — Gale Gardens Apartments’ leasing agent and property management company has reportedly been unresponsive to a Utah woman, who filed a verbal report with the Melvindale Police Department April 22 about an identity thief who has used her name, Social Security number and credit history to rent an apartment at Gale Gardens.

The woman asked the police officer to go to the apartment to find out who has rented an apartment in her name, because the leasing agent and property management company have ignored her requests for help.

The woman said she has frozen her credit, filed an identity theft complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, and flagged her account with the credit reporting agencies.
