RIVERVIEW — An expired license plate led to the May 16 drunken driving arrest of a 60-year-old Trenton man on southbound Fort Street near Pennsylvania Road.
The man drove slowly for about half a mile before he pulled over to comply with the police vehicle’s flashing emergency lights, which indicated a traffic stop, and he was immediately argumentative and aggressive with the police officer.
The man’s eyes were watery and glossy, and he smelled of intoxicants. He failed standard field sobriety tests, and refused to consent to a preliminary breath test.
A search warrant was obtained for a blood draw at Beaumont Hospital, Trenton, after which he was booked and held. His vehicle was impounded and towed, and will be held until insurance and an updated license plate are obtained.
