ALLEN PARK — Michigan State Police are seeking information on a suspect in connection to an assault May 19 on westbound I-94 and east Outer Drive in Allen Park.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Metro South Post at 734-287-5000 or 800-773-2587.
MSP responded to I-94 and Outer Drive about 4:50 p.m. May 19 a driver called to report their car was hit with an object, but they were not sure if it was a bullet.
Troopers responded to investigate and determined that the incident started near west I-94 and Oakwood Boulevard where a freeway construction road closure began.
The victim said the incident started because of road rage.
“The victim threw an almost empty water bottle at the suspect and the suspect began following the victim,” MSP posted on Twitter. “The victim attempted to get away from the suspect multiple times unsuccessfully.”
When the victim quickly accelerated and exited at Pelham, he heard a loud “boom.” The victim continued to drive away to ensure he was not being followed until he went to a safe spot where he called police.
The suspect fled westbound on the highway from Pelham.
MSP troopers were able to recover fragments of a bullet that struck the victim’s vehicle.
