The Allen Park High School girls softball team won the Division 1 state championship when they defeated Macomb Dakota High School 5-0 June 18 at Michigan State University. Players and coaches were presented with their medals during a ceremony after they made history, winning the school’s first state softball title. The team was invited to a future city council meeting to be recognized for their championship.
