DEARBORN — A Dearborn man driving as part of his cousin’s wedding party was cited for reckless driving the evening of July 2 while doing burnouts at a red light in a congested area near Michigan Avenue and Ternes Street.
A burnout occurs when one spins a vehicle’s wheels while it remains stationary, which causes smoke to form from the resultant friction.
The police officer observed black tire scuff marks on the roadway the burnouts had occurred.
The driver was cited, given instructions to contact 19th District Court for an appearance date and was released at the scene.
