ALLEN PARK — A woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol about 3 a.m. July 3 after she crashed her silver 2020 Chevy Trax into a black 2012 Chevy Cruze parked near Champaign Road and Fox Avenue.
The woman, who was on her way to Lincoln Park to visit her ex-finance, said she was looking at her cell phone when she hit the parked vehicle. She also admitted to having had three bottles of Corona beer between midnight and 1 a.m., about an hour and a half before driving.
The woman failed multiple standardized field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was administered, and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.14, almost twice the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
She was taken to the Allen Park police station, where she was booked and held, and her vehicle was impounded and towed.
