DEARBORN – A free back-to-school event, with bounce houses, free backpacks, school supplies and more will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 11 at Hemlock Park, 13355 Hemlock St.
The event, sponsored by Springwells Assembly of God Church of Dearborn and Brightmoor Christian Church of Novi, was approved July 12 by the City Council.
Games, cotton candy and popcorn will be available as well.
The sponsoring churches have paid the city for the use of the designated picnic areas, and have secured insurance for the bounce houses.
Parks and Recreation Director Sean Fletcher said his department has reviewed the event details and has no objections or concerns with the gathering.
