HEIGHTS — A $3,457 check that was sent to a 43-year-old Dearborn Heights man in late May to buy work equipment, following a job offer from an Arizona construction firm, was found to be fraudulent, costing the man $50 in fees from his financial institution.
The victim, who filed a police report July 7 at his bank’s behest, said he had only an email address for his supposed employer, and he was uncertain whether he wanted to file charges.
