ALLEN PARK —A student loan obtained for a man’s daughter by his ex-wife, using his Social Security number and name on the paperwork, was reported July 19 as a fraud.

The victim said his daughter is attending Michigan State University, and the loan was initiated last October without his knowledge. He said he was advised to file a police report before the Sallie Mae Student Loan program would launch an investigation.
