MELVINDALE — A 32-year-old motorcyclist with a revoked license hit a parked car the night of July 30 when he said he was trying to avoid a car backing out of a driveway in the 18600 block of Harman Avenue.
The man, whose mother lives on the street, stopped a half block down, and was found sitting on the curb, with visible cuts and scratches on his arms, and complaining of shoulder and collar bone pain. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn, and a relative took possession of his motorcycle.
A witness said the motorcyclist was not speeding, but said he did not see a vehicle backing out of a driveway, and believes the motorcyclist hit a patch of gravel or dirt that caused him to lose control of the motorcycle.
The owner of the car struck by the motorcycle was not home, but was apprised of the situation and of the minor damage to her vehicle driver’s door.
