RIVERVIEW — A 30-year-old Detroit man who said he “doesn’t drink” was arrested at 2:15 a.m. July 26 for operating while intoxicated while driving south on Fort Street near King Road after a police officer saw him swerving twice out of his lane of travel.
The man, whose speech was slurred and eyes were glossy, smelled of intoxicants, and it was later determined that his driver’s license was suspended.
He failed multiple standardized field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was administered, and the man had a blood-alcohol content of 0.136, more than one-and-a-half times the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
His vehicle was impounded and towed, and he was taken to the Riverview police station, where he was booked and held.
