ALLEN PARK — A female shoplifter fled with more than $500 worth of jewelry and a Yoda doll stashed in a store duffle bag the evening of Aug. 18 at T.J. Maxx, 3320 Fairlane Drive.
The loss prevention officer said the woman was monitored on store surveillance cameras as she filled a shopping cart with 30 boxes of jewelry, valued at $520, two duffle bags from the handbag department, and miscellaneous items from other departments.
The woman then stood in the checkout line for a short while, before she abandoned her cart and grabbed the duffle bag filled with jewelry, and headed for the exit door.
A loss prevent employee attempted to detain her, but she pushed her way past them and drove off in a silver sedan with tinted windows.
The woman was described as black, with short hair colored pink and purple. She escaped with a total of $535 worth of merchandise. Surveillance camera footage of her shoplifting was forward to the police detective bureau.
