SOUTHGATE — A vacant house was broken into Sept. 5 in the 16000 block of Walter Street, a watchful neighbor reported.

Responding police officers discovered the back door glass broken on the attached garage, which allowed entry. The burglar then pried open a locked door leading from the garage to the house. The police officers searched the house, and found it to be unoccupied and undamaged.
