WYANDOTTE — A 27-year-old Ecorse man was cited Sept. 8 for careless driving and for having a suspended license while speeding northbound on Biddle Avenue near Pennsylvania Road.
The man entered a lane closed for construction, dodging signs, barrels and workers’ vehicles, then ran a red light at Pennsylvania Road while driving 50 mph in a 35-mph zone.
When a police officer activated the emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop near Cedar Street, the man accelerated and initially refused to stop until he abruptly pulled over at Davis Street.
His vehicle was impounded and towed and he was given a courtesy ride to his home.
