DEARBORN – Ford Mustang fans gathered at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn Sept. 14 to “stampede” down Michigan Avenue to Hart Plaza in Detroit to celebrate the debut of the seventh generation Mustang.
Celebrating six generations of Mustangs, participants were urged to wear attire matching the era of their classic automobile, from the 1960s to the present day.
Mustang owners revved their engines driving by the Dearborn police station, with officers working traffic control and not worried about the muscle car owners being tempted to drag race.
The 2022 North American International Auto Show, which runs through Sept. 25 at Huntington Place — formerly known as TCF Center, and before that, Cobo Hall — returns for the first time in three years, following a COVID-19 pandemic hiatus.
