TAYLOR — Kyle Laski, 27, of Taylor was found dead Sept. 15 in a wooded area within the city.
The city’s Facebook page posted the update, letting the community know following their assistance with the search after he went missing on Sept. 5.
Businesses and organizations were also asked to remove any flyer focusing on Laski’s disappearance and to spread the word that his body was found.
“The family has been deluged with calls, even after his body was found,” the post said. “Again, if you participated in this search, the family, City of Taylor and the Taylor Police appreciate your efforts.”
An initial post by the Police Department asked for public assistance to locate Laski who was experiencing a metal health crisis when he went missing.
He was last seen riding a bicycle and wearing a blue shirt with the words “Kyle’s Tiles.”
According to his obituary, Laski leaves behind two daughters; his partner, Nicole Henderson; and many more family members.
“Kyle was a wonderful father and cherished every memory he made with his two daughters,” the obituary read. “He taught them his passion for nature and his love for all animals. Kyle spent a lot of time fishing, hunting, kayaking and hiking in the Metroparks, Elizabeth Park and CrossWinds Marsh.”
Also mentioned was Laski’s love for spending time with his mother and sister who shared many trips together skiing at Boyne Mountain, visiting Florida and family trips to the family’s cottage on Beaver Lake.
Laski was known to be resourceful, creating his own business, Kyle’s Tile.
“He was a skilled craftsman and received many referrals that made his business a great success early on,” the obituary said. “He was also an avid gardener and loved to share his many gardening successes with his family.”
A celebration of Laski’s life was held Sept. 20 at Elizabeth Park in Trenton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Laski’s daughters. Checks should be made payable to Wendy Laski and mailed to The Martenson Funeral Home, 3200 West Road, Trenton; attention: Laski Family.
