TRENTON —Two catalytic converters were reported stolen Oct. 5 from older model vehicles parked on Riverside Drive: a 2002 Buick and a 2002 Ford Escape.

The owner of the Escape said the catalytic converter was likely stolen sometime after midnight.

The owner of the Buick said he heard his vehicle’s catalytic converter being removed about 5:24 a.m., and he saw a man get out from under his vehicle and offer him a familiar digital salute before fleeing in a silver or black compact vehicle.
