RIVERVIEW — A 37-year-old man was arrested for outstanding warrants about 2 a.m. Oct. 8 after a police officer saw him walking through the parking lot of two closed stores on Fort Street with a full plastic sack over his shoulder.
The man said he was hoping to redeem returnable beverage cans at Meijer, but he discovered the store was closed.
After running the man’s name through the Law Enforcement Information Network, the police officer discovered that the man had numerous arrest warrants, including drug possession, drug trafficking and operating under the influence.
He was taken into custody and held pending extradition to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio.
