TAYLOR — Taylor High School was closed today following a threat was posted on Instagram yesterday evening. Taylor police took a student into custody after an investigation.
The Police Department received information of the threat, upon which the Detective Division began investigating and located an IP address associated with the post. A search warrant was completed, which led police to a a 14-year-old male THS student.
The boy was taken into custody at his home without incident. He was interviewed, and admitted to posting the threatening message as a prank. He was then transported to Wayne County Juvenile Court pending approval of charges by the prosecutor’s office.
The boy’s mother has been cooperative, and said her son didn’t have access to any weapons, nor were there any in the home, according to police. He is a straight-A student and has no past disciplinary actions.
