Expired plate leads to impounded car

MELVINDALE — A white 2007 Ford Crown Victoria was impounded and towed the afternoon of Nov. 17 when if was found to have an expired license plate and no insurance, as well as the registered owner having a suspended driver’s license.

When a traffic stop was conducted on South Dearborn Street near Wood Street, the driver was unable to provide either a valid registration or proof of insurance.

The vehicle was impounded and towed. The driver was given a courtesy ride to his destination and advised to contact 24th District Court for an appearance date.
