SOUTHGATE — The owner of a vehicle with wide after-market tires was upset the afternoon of Nov. 25 when an employee of Chuck’s Auto Wash, 14280 Fort St., damaged a tire stem when they drove his vehicle into the car wash tracks.
After the stem on the wide tire was broken, the tire went flat.
A representative from the car wash said that signs clearly indicate that the car wash is not responsible for after-market products on vehicles entering the wash area.
The upset vehicle owner was told by the responding police officers that the matter was a civil, not a criminal concern, and he had the option of pursuing a remedy in through a civil court suit.
